Similar Instagram accounts and competitors
We collect the accounts Instagram considers close to a given profile and show the size of each — so you can see whose shelf you share.
The list comes from the platform’s own recommendations, not from our guess about your market.

Which accounts the same audience reads
The chain is built on audience overlap: the list holds accounts read by the same people who read you. It is not market research and not a roster of who takes your customers — sometimes they coincide, sometimes not. Who counts as a competitor is your call; the report supplies the starting list.

FAQ
What to know about similar accounts
01Where does the list come from?
From Instagram’s own recommendations — the chain shown in the app under the follow button.
02Are these really my competitors?
No. These are accounts a similar audience reads. Overlap with business competitors is common but not guaranteed.
03Why do some rows have no numbers?
A private account shows its counters to nobody. Those rows are flagged rather than filled with zeros.
04Can I look up similar accounts for someone else?
Yes, if their profile is public. The chain builds from any open account.
05What if nothing similar is found?
Young or narrow accounts may have no chain at all. Then the profile should not reach checkout, and we verify that beforehand.
What “similar” means to the platform
Instagram does not know what you do for a living. It knows who your readers also read, and builds the chain from that.
So next to a coffee shop the list may hold a city blogger rather than another coffee shop. That is not a faulty result; it is the answer to a different question.
And that answer is more useful than it looks: audiences arrive from exactly those accounts, and that is where an ad lands among the right people.
How to use it
Three uses the list is usually taken for.
- Choosing where to advertise. An account from the chain is already read by the audience you want.
- Checking your positioning. If nobody from your field appears, the platform understood you differently than you intended.
- Finding topics. Neighbours in the chain show what else interests the same people.
