What is picking up speed on your topic right now
The report measures speed: how fast posts on your topic gain views and how fresh the results are. The platform hands out no general list of what is trending by any route — its only trending marker sits on sounds and is sold as a separate service. Velocity spans a reel’s whole lifetime, so fresh ones look faster by construction; the report is split by age band so the comparison stays fair. And it is one measurement, not monitoring: it sees no growth between two points.

What to know about trends
01How do I tell which reels are trending on my topic?
By speed, not by a general list: the report counts how many views per hour fresh reels on your phrase are gaining, and splits them by age. A reel that gained more in a day than its neighbours did in a week is the trending one on your topic.
02Is this the Instagram trend list?
No. The platform gives that list to nobody. The report shows what is picking up speed on YOUR topic: view velocity, freshness of the results and flow on the tag.
03Why are fresh reels always faster?
Because velocity is views divided by age, and a fresh post has little age. That is why the report is split by age: compare within one band.
04Will you show the topic growing?
No. This is one measurement at the moment of the order. Growth between two points needs monitoring, which we neither sell nor promise here.
05How is this different from Reels ideas?
Ideas show the absolute top on a topic, without time. Trends show time: what is rising now and what is not in the top yet.
06Do you need my account?
No, the topic is the whole input.
What the report will not do
Three honest limits.
- It will not show the platform’s trends as a whole. No such list exists outside the platform itself.
- It will not predict tomorrow’s hit. It speaks about what is already gaining speed, not about the future.
- It does not replace monitoring. This is a snapshot; seeing growth takes two measurements at different times.
Why velocity beats raw views
A reel with a million views over a year and a reel with ten thousand in a day are different stories, yet a list sorted by views always puts the first one on top. Velocity places them side by side honestly.
That is also why the report is split by age: within one band the comparison means something, across bands it does not.
